Carol (Strunk) Loefstedt, 60 of Oxford passed away from cancer on December 12, 2011 at her home, with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Martin G. Loefstedt of Oxford; her mother, Laura Jean Strunk of Endicott; her daughters, Robin Simons of Bainbridge, Tara Deubler, and Laura and her husband Frank Sepulveres of Jupiter, FL; her sisters, including her twin, Sharyl Patton of Corning, Billie Taylor of Endicott, Ruth Odom and Michael Smith of Wake Forest, NC, and Bobbie and her husband Thomas Krause of Holly Springs, NC; her grandchildren, Kathryn Simons of Oxford, Paul and Joe Sepulveres of Jupiter, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, William Strunk and her brother in law, John Patton.
Carol graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1970. She loved her work with 4-H in Chenango County and working for Cornell Cooperative Extension as a Nutrition Educator in Chenango County. She was a member and Past President of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Oxford Fire Department Auxiliary. She was named Oxford Lions Club Citizen of the Year in 2006. She was an active volunteer for many causes, wherever she felt she could help someone.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Main St., Oxford at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the 4-H Program, c/o Cornell Cooperative Extension, 99 N. Broad St., Norwich, NY 13815.
