Arrington j canor

Arrington "Art" J. Canor, 81, of McDonough. Went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on September 19, 2019. Art was born in Peekskill, NY son of the late Joseph J. Canor and Hilda V. Croft Canor.
Art is survived by the love of his life Janet Dahlke Canor and their children Cheri and William Groark and Lori and Paul Canor. Art is also survived by his grandchildren Jason Groark, Cathleen Sward, Colleen Groark, James Groark, Christopher Canor, and Jessica Mitchell, and two great grandchildren and all his beloved animals.
Art was a hardworking and honest man. He married the love of his life Janet on April 25, 1959 and together they spent their loving 63 years of marriage tending to the horses and other animals on their family farm. Art loved his animals and was a talented wood worker. He always said that working in a sawmill had a way of making him feel young again. Art was the McDonough Town Supervisor for 14 years and his life goal was to make a positive difference for his community and all those around him. He loved and respected the community of McDonough. Art will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830 on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 11:00 Am- 1:00PM. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Burial will follow immediately in the McDonough Union Cemetery.
