Barbara roberts

Barbara J. (Davis) Roberts, 93, of Oxford, NY, passed away on February 4, 2021, at Elizabeth Church Manor. She is now at peace after a long battle with dementia. Barbara was born in Oxford to Linn and Eugenia (Pendleton) Davis on June 14, 1927. She grew up in Oxford and graduated from Oxford Academy High School. On December 19, 1944, she married the love of her life, Charles Roberts. They were married 66 years at the time of his death in 2011. Together they raised four boys and planted the roots to their ever-growing family tree. Barb loved her husband and her family more than anything and was a truly selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was smart, kind, and always full of energy. She especially loved spending time in her flower gardens, feeding the wild birds, and doing most anything outside. She enjoyed walking, spending time with, and caring for her family, and having coffee with her girlfriends. Dementia may have altered her mind and taken her memories, but it could not change the beautiful person that she was, both inside and out, or take the love from her heart. "The heart will always hold what the mind no longer can." She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Robert and Sharon Roberts of Oxford, NY and Bradley and Jacqueline Roberts of Fairview, TN; her daughter in law, MaryBeth Roberts of Robbinsville, NJ; her grandchildren, Lisa (Roger) Shackelton, Nicole (Andy) Segelke, Janice Roberts, John Roberts, Jr., Kimberly (Kevin) Ekstrom, Steven (Enid) Roberts, Jennifer (Kirk) Boyd, Hannah (Tony) Roberts, and Emma Roberts; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Charlie, Jenna, Sam, Ben, Grace, Kendra, Isabella, Liliana, Max, and Anthony. She was predeceased by her parents, Linn and Eugenia (Pendleton) Davis, her husband, Charles N. Roberts, and her two sons, John N. Roberts and Christopher L. Roberts. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Elizabeth Church Manor for their compassionate care and support. Respecting Barb's wishes, there will not be calling hours or a funeral service. There will be a private family burial in the spring.
