Carl E Lindenthaler, 77 of Preston, passed away peacefully at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Carl was born on May 3, 1938 in Saddle River, NJ to Doris Cozine and Francis Lindenthaler, he was one of 11 children.
Carl was pre-deceased by his wife of 44 years, Ruth (Helmuth/Hafelin) in 2013.
Carl is survived by his children:
LeRoy Lindenthaler (and fiancée Louanne Money), Mary Ann Hover, Debbie Russell (Keith Wallen), Betty Villanueva, step daughters: Cindy (Bill) Branham and Jean (Jeff) Andrews. Carl had 12 grandchildren: Brittany Lindenthaler, Brandon Lindenthaler, Jared Bush, Matthew Russell, Kelly Williams, Sayword Hover, Armando Villanueva, Brianna Villanueva, Rebecca Reger, Sarah Branham, Gillian Morgan, & Gabe Morgan, and 8 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Carl is survived by Siblings: Sheila Hunt, Daisy Haynes, MaryLee Hoffman, Allen Lindenthaler & Eugene Lindenthaler and pre-deceased by siblings: Joyce Romei, Claire Geoghan, Robert Lindenthaler, Forrest Lindenthaler and Dean Lindenthaler.
Carl served in the United States Air Force from 1955 -1959.
He was retired from Raymond Corp. in Greene, and from his part time job at the Chenango County Sheriff's Dept. and several other local police departments.
He worked at Benedicts part time as a driver, after retirement, until 2014. Carl was very sociable by nature, he enjoyed the outdoors and work working.
Carl had a special soft spot for his cat; Kit-Kat.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 with the funeral immediately following at 11:00AM with the Rev. Ralph Hinman, officiating. Burial will be in St. Malachy's Cemetery in Sherburne at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chenango County SPCA in lieu of flowers.
