Diana L Rojek of Preston, NY passed away on May 7, 2020 at age 74 at University Hospital in Syracuse following a heart attack. She was born to Ronald and Grace Roach of McDonough, NY. Diana attended Oxford Central School.
Diana was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Richard Rojek, who passed away in 2005.
She left behind her children: Tanya Marie (Christopher) Stewart of Munford, TN, John W. (Becky) Ives, Jr. of Sidney, NY, Travis (Kim) Ives of Sidney, NY, Cassie L (Robert J) Clipston of Norwich, NY, Bobbi Jo (Roger) Shipman, Jr. of Zebulon, NC Her grandchildren: Timothy (Jamie) Stewart of Bartlett, TN; Stephen Stewart of Covington, TN; Katrina Ives of Harpursville, NY; Tucker John Ives of Sidney, NY; Dillon Ives of Sidney, NY; Samantha E Turner of Bridge Port, NY; Mallory L Mirabito, Zackory I Clipston, Tayah L Clipston of Norwich, NY; William L Clipston currently based in Afghanistan in the US Army; Sami Jo Clipston of Oxford, NY; Zeegan Shipman of Zebulon, NC and several foster grandkids.
She also leaves behind her sister Debra Taylor of Sidney, NY and her brothers Gary Roach of Binghamton, NY and Dan Roach of Raleigh NC.
She has several nieces and nephews and six great-grandchildren.
Diana was an avid crafter. She and her late husband Rich traveled around to craft fairs and had a small shop in Preston NY. She loved ceramics and miniature dollhouse items. Diana loved quilting and she made several quilts and baby blankets. She loved to read and collected all sorts of books. Genealogy fascinated her and she and her daughter Cassie spent several years delving into her family history and tracing it back to Ireland and Germany. They traveled around Chenango County taking photos of the headstones of family members' and different properties owned by family.
Diana helped start and run one of the largest Facebook Groups in Central NY, Chenango County Scanner Nerds, with over 20,000 members for eight years. She loved American Girl dolls. She enjoyed the stories behind the characters and spent her last few years collecting them and learning all about restoring them. Diana loved animals and was a huge animal rights advocate.
