Dylan Allen Demuth, 21, of Oxford, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Dylan was born on October 7, 1997 in Norwich, NY. Dylan was predeceased by his great grandparents Donald and Grace Ross and his great great grandparents Leon and Viola Simson, Ester Gardner who was famous for making Dylan sweaters, hats, and mittens, Ann and Ward Johnson, who was famous for her baked goods. Dylan was also predeceased by his favorite uncle Andrew Allen Head, his aunt Amanda Demuth, and her daughter Amara Demuth and grandmother, Dawn Kriener.
Dylan is survived by his beloved mother Jennifer Brooks (John Beckwith) and John's children Joshua and Adam Beckwith. He is also survived by his beautiful beloved, and caring sister Jazmine Jorden Brooks. Also surviving Dylan are several Nana's and Papa's Peggy and John Carhart, Rick and Tammy Head, Diane Rowe and Rich Boyer, Jerry Demuth, Ron and Bonnie Brooks, his great grandparents Lee and Pauline Head and Leila Brooks, who is famous for her Sunday morning pancake breakfasts. Also surviving Dylan are his aunt and uncle Rebecca and Joe Barrows, Tim Ross and Mary Olmstead, and his extended family, Corey and Marie Brooks, Andrea Head, Nikki Head, his very close uncle and best friend Nathan Head and several other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, and sisters. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
Dylan graduated from Oxford Academy and Central Schools, Class of 2016, with a Regent's Diploma. After graduation Dylan went on to work at the NYS Veterans Home as a food service worker. Dylan loved family gatherings and going to Lake Ludlow every year for the 4th of July to enjoy fireworks and time spend with family. Dylan was an avid collector of Star Wars memorabilia. He was a talented artist, always drawing and making homemade gifts for his family. He loved playing the electric guitar and listening to music. Dylan enjoyed golfing with John and driving the golf cart and swimming at Nana and Papa Carhart's. He enjoyed riding BMX bikes and always enjoyed his time spent with Nathan Head, his best friend and uncle. Dylan has always had a passion for animals and will be remembered for his smile, laugh, sense of humor, and his caring sensitive heart for others.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dylan's memory can be made to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830 on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Larry Cronk officiating. Burial will follow immediately after in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford, NY.
