Frank L. Carlin, 94 of Oxford passed away peacefully in his home, with his family by his side, on September 10, 2020. He was born on July 31, 1926 in Elmira, NY a son of the late Frank W. and Permelia L. (Wheaton) Carlin. On November 30, 1947 in Oxford he married Erma J. Monroe, who survives.
Besides his wife, Erma, he is survived by his children, Clifford and Teresa Carlin of Greene, Debra Carlin and Jere Spathelf, Chris Ross and Gary McLean and Teresa and Rod Flood all of Oxford; his grandchildren, Robin, Tammy, Wendy, Shelley, Shawn, Scott, Tina, Richard, Kara, Nikki, and Brittany. Many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald Carlin and Forrest Carlin, his sister, Dorothy Williams and a grandson, Joshua.
Frank was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, where he loved playing football, baseball and track. After school, he loved working on the family farm for many years. While farming and raising his family he worked full time at the NYS Veterans Home. After selling the family farm, he continued to work full time at the NYS Veterans Home, as well as part time at Victory Markets, The Pennysaver and he loved driving a school bus. He also enjoyed many years selling real estate with his wife for United Farm Real Estate Agency and then for Frank Carlin Realty. He met and enjoyed many wonderful people over the years. In his younger years he enjoyed softball on the town team. He enjoyed bowling for over 60 years on various leagues with various people, always having fun and making people smile. Frank will be missed by many and forever in the hearts of those who love him.
Private services will be held in Riverview Cemetery with Richard Howard officiating.
