Gilbert l brewer

Gilbert L. Brewer 78, of McDonough, NY, passed away on October 6, 2017. Gilbert was born in Norwich, NY. Son of the late Fred and Jeanne Brewer. He married his wife of 55 years Donna Bradt on August 24, 1962. Gilbert is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Larry Brewer, Freddie Brewer, Dale Brewer and Stephen Brewer. He is also predeceased by his sister Joanne Herrick and sister in-laws Dorothy Crandall and Kitty Brewer.
Gilbert is survived by his wife Donna Brewer, his step sons Terry Simpson, Jerry Simpson, and Larry and Vicki Simpson. He is also survived by his Brother Bruce Brewer and brother in- laws Sliv Bradt, Bill Bradt, Donald Bradt, and Dick Crandall. Also surviving Gilbert are his sister in- laws Bonnie Brewer, Betsie Brewer, and Joanne Brewer. He is survived by 9 Loving grandchildren and 11 loving great grandchildren and his special lifelong friends Rodney Preston, Martin Teft and Peggy Braman.
Gilbert was a member of the Antique Tractor Club and he loved riding his motorcycle and 4wheeler. He was an avid hunter and loved playing cards and his guitar. He was a part of a family band, and worked for Ford Homes and the McDonough Highway Department for most of his life. He will be missed dearly by all of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday, October 9 ,2017 from 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Howard officiating. Family wishes to announce a reception following the funeral service to be held in the McDonough Town Hall and invites anyone to bring a small dish to pass.
