Harrison Weaver was born May 29th, 1955. The proud son of Mary Coleman and Willie Weaver. A full-blooded Navajo, his maternal clan was Tłiziłáni (Manygoat) and paternal clan was Tódikózhi (Saltwater). His maternal grandfather was Tsinsikaadnii (Tree-clamp people), and his paternal grandfather was Áshįįhí (Salt people).
Harrison passed away in his home on November 4, 2023, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and family. Harrison’s life was a testament to the belief that actions speak louder than words.
Harrison graduated as valedictorian from Many Farms High School (Navajo Nation) in 1974 and his drive for excellence led to an honorable discharge after proudly serving in the US Navy from 1975 to 1981.
Returning to civilian life, Harrison spent many years in Colorado. He loved sports and the outdoors, especially the Denver Broncos, and challenged himself by joining the 14ers Mountain Climbing Club.
He dedicated himself to fatherhood and raising his four sons, Nathan Weaver (Lorrie Weaver), Eric Weaver, Patrick Weaver, and Johnny Weaver; through all the triumphs and challenges that parenting brings.
Ascending the ranks at Quest Communications, Harrison demonstrated an unparalleled work ethic as a Fiberoptic technician. In 2001, fate led him to Tammy J. Weaver, who became his partner in life. Embracing her daughters, Amber Bailey, and Amanda Bailey (Brain Compton) as his own, he showcased his unwavering commitment to family.
Their move from Colorado to Oxford, NY, in 2002, marked a new chapter together. Harrison’s marriage to Tammy in 2004 reflected their shared values and deep bond.
Even as he faced the daunting challenges of his health, including the effects of a stroke that stole his voice and a valiant battle with schizophrenia and liver cancer, Harrison never wavered. His stoic nature and his mantra, “It is what it is,” served as a guiding force, reflecting his unyielding spirit.
Harrison Weaver was distinguished as a proud Navajo man, a steadfast husband, a loving father, and a proud Papa. An embodiment of tireless strength, one who will be deeply missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him.
His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, as we hold him close in our hearts. His character, kindness, and knowing smirk will be cherished in our memories forever.
