Hazel knapp

Hazel Ruth Knapp, 85 of Oxford, was taken home on July 31, 2018. She was born on March 31, 1933 in Guilford a daughter of the late Carl and Ethel Moore. On November 18, 1951 she married James Alonzo Knapp, who died on May 9, 1982.
She is survived by her seven children, Mitzie (Ken) Freeman, David (Arlene) Knapp, Tammy (Rick) Head, Tim (Cathy) Knapp, Jerry (Brenda) Knapp, Deb (Robert) Shaffer, and Leon (Effie) Knapp; her brothers Dorr (Dick) Moore and Douglas Moore.
She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Doris Thoms, Mary Favorito, Carletta Russell, Allen Moore and Harry Moore.
She grew ups on her family's farm. She attended Oxford Academy and Central School. Hazel was employed at the New York State Veterans Home until she retired at age 62. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her dog Lily and gardening.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Thursday from noon until the time of the service. The family is requesting instead of flowers, memorial donations to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
