From 1945 until 1951, Ila worked for the Chenango County Extension Service in the Farm Bureau and 4-H offices. In 1964, she went to work for the Oxford School District for 12 years and then worked for 2 years at the NYS Vets Home. In 1978, she went to work at the Norwich Pharmacal Company until her retirement in 1990.
She so loved her family, spoiling her grandsons, time spent fishing and playing cards with Dick and friends at Lake Ludlow, and all of her four legged "children".
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to all, for the support and love they showed Ila and Dick. They also express their sincere thanks to Ila and Dick's neighbors and friends for the wonderful feasts and gracious assistance they gave them.
At Ila's request, she will be remembered in a small family service at Riverview Cemetery at 11.00 am on Monday, January 25, 2021. For those wishing to remember Ila, a donation to the Chenango County SPCA or a charity of one's choice would be extremely appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
