James Small

James M. Small, 51, of Oneonta NY, passed away Tuesday, December 10,2024, after a brief illness. Jim was born on September 5, 1973, in Norwich NY, and graduated from Oxford Academy and Central High School in 1992.

As a teen and young adult, Jim served on the Oxford Fire Department and Oxford Emergency Squad. He worked in auto detailing for many years. His favorite sports and teams included Arsenal FC, Formula One, the Boston Red Sox, and the LA Rams. Locally, he followed SU basketball and Smith Racing. He was also a Friend of Bill.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Sally Small, and is survived by his sisters and their spouses, Karen (Mark) Archambault of Nashua NH, Linda (Steven) Powell of Salmon ID, and Nancy (Chris) Smith of Chittenango NY. He is also survived by his nephew and nieces Zachary, Kira, and Gwen Powell and Casey Smith; plus several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home Inc, 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Richard Howard will begin at 12:00PM. There will be a private interment in Riverview Cemetery to follow.
