Jan worked at The Evening Sun on Hale St. Norwich with paper carriers for 30 years. She and John were also Chenango County Foster Parents for over 20 years. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Greene singing in the choir, served as church treasurer, Applefest treasurer, joined mission group, helped bake apple pies and cakes for the children’s home and church fish fries. Jan spent many hours a day making stuff for others and enjoyed it. She made Ugly Quilts for the homeless, lap robes for nursing home residents, hats and mittens for Rotary and OFC Head Start, baby hats for CMH Maternity, baby blankets for PCAP and anyone else she knew who was going to have a baby, she took pride in making prayer shawls that were given out to so many who needed that comfort. Jan also helped deliver meals on wheels and worked at the Greene Food Pantry. Jan was the most selfless, caring person to all who knew her, we have no doubt she is singing in the angel’s choir and will forever watch over those she loved.
Although mom enjoyed her flowers, she is no longer here to enjoy them. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Greene Central School Music Department or the First United Methodist Church of Greene.
