Jay Travis,82, of Norwich, NY. Passed away at home with his loving family by his side on November 20, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1942, in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Kathryn (Kitty) (Messenger) and James Travis. Jay was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Robert Travis.
Jay is survived by his longtime significant other, partner of 49 years, and Love of his life Patricia Leahy, and son Chet Travis and extended family. He is also survived by his children: Jayette Clarke (John) Claudeen Nellis-Engler (Chad) Chester (Chet) Travis, and grandchildren: Hailey and Emma. He is also survived by his special longtime friends Bob Bailey and Jimmy Manwarren, and the close Leahy family.
There were many know knew him as “Hotdog Man” with hot dog stand on the corner of west park in Norwich, NY since May 1980. Jay always loved fishing on his pontoon boat with his buddies, Harry Myers, Mike Samsel, Calvin Harshbarger, and Jimmy Manwarren. Spending time with family and friends was very important to him.
