Jean Eleanor Brown Moore, 89 of Ward SC, formerly of Guilford, NY passed away after battling dementia for over six long years. Even in the end she never lost the sparkle in her blue eyes. She passed on October 19, 2024, in the comfort of her room at Bridgewater Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with one of her favorite nurses by her side. She was born on June 25, 1935, to Daniel Kennard Brown and Helen Lorena Carnrike in Rome, New York. She attended school in the Norwich City School District. Jean married her husband Robert of 71 years on June 27, 1953. While raising their 5 children, they owned a farm in Guilford. They had dairy cattle and then Charolais beef cattle with his parents and it was called Moore and Moore Charolais. They also had sheep, pigs and the occasional pheasant, Jethro, who made the newspaper. Jean had several jobs in her lifetime, she worked as a housekeeper at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford. She worked at Grants Department store as a sales clerk and self employed house-keeper cleaning local houses in Oxford and Norwich. She and her husband Robert owned Bluebird Helicopter Service, they worked for many farmers in New York State spraying corn, alfalfa and spreading rye seed on the corn fields in the fall. After a lifetime in New York State, she and Robert moved to Florida in 1983. While in FL they enjoyed fishing in the Gulf, and she waitressed for a restaurant on Marco Island. While there Robert designed the home they planned to build together in Ward, South Carolina. They moved to South Carolina in 1996. Once they settled on their new property, they became avid gardeners. They would can large amounts of vegetables and fruits each year. While there Jean became an active member of the Richland Springs Baptist Church in Saluda, SC. She spent most Sundays in the congregation singing hymns and praising the Lord. Along with being an active member she was also a part of the church’s senior group, taking trips and traveling with good friends. One of her fondest memories was traveling to the Biltmore Estate in NC. Jean is survived by three sons, Barrett (Connie) Moore of Ruckersville, VA. David Moore of Oxford, NY. Dean (Gloria) Moore of Estero, FL. One daughter Robin M. (Timothy) Haddad of Bainbridge, NY. A sister in law Michelle (William) Finch of Oneonta, NY. Grandchildren: Heather (Lynn) Brooker of S. New Berlin, NY. Barrett Moore of Ruckersville, VA. Cassandra (Eric) Moore Willis Tillman of Crestwood, KY. Kaylie (John) Pena of Estero, FL. Lindsay Moore of Clay, NY. Gina and Valerie Haddad of Bainbridge, NY. Great grandchildren: Ashley and Wyatt Brooker, Jonathan and Maikol Pena, Xavian Moore Along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband Robert T. Moore, son Dennis Moore, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean and William Menner, brother Harry Brown, great grandson Amari White, and daughter-in-law Margo Moore. Per Jeans wishes there will be no services held, the family will have a private service at a later date. In Lieu of donations please consider donating to Alzheimer's association to help find a cure to help others struggling with Dementia and Alzheimer's or the Dementia Society of America to help families struggling with dementia.
