John Edward Greenwood, Sr.65 of Norwich, NY passed away on May 17, 2020 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
John was born on June 22, 1954, in Lowville, New York. He was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central High School, Class of 1972. John was a top-notch mechanic who worked for several car dealerships in his younger years. He worked at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford for many years, retiring in 2016.
John is survived by his companion of 17 years, Lynn Pisan, and his faithful dog, Shamus, his mother Rellah Greenwood of Norwich, his daughter Heather Greenwood (Christopher Dwyer) of Branford, CT, his son, John Edward Greenwood, Jr. (Jessica Greenwood) of Loveland, OH his grandchildren Dylan and Rylan Dwyer, and Sarah, Madison, Isannah, Lilionna, Elliah, Saige and Harmony Greenwood, and his sisters Debbie Pries of Medina, OH, Wanda Schneider of Hartford, NY, Cynthia Marks of Merritt Island, FL ,and Sheryl Merritt of Oxford, and his brother Larry Greenwood of McDonough as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his father, Charles H. Greenwood, Jr. of Oxford, New York.
His children, Heather and John, and his sister Debbie wish to acknowledge and thank Sharon Lester and Steve Cobb of Oxford for the compassionate care they provided to John in his final weeks.
At the request of his children, there will be no service.
