John E. Lashway, 84, of Afton, NY. passed away peacefully on Monday November 23, 2020, with his family by his side. He was born on October 28, 1936 in Oxford, NY a son of the late Earl and Mary Flora (Dominic) Lashway, Sr.
John will especially be remembered as a loving husband and an excellent father to all. John was very proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoys a long career with P&G in engineering. Later John became an avid golfer and was continually active in the Afton alumni golf tournaments raising money for the alumni association and always returning his teams winnings to benefit scholarships. He was a talented woodworker and joined his wife Ruth in creating much admired wooden gifts for family and friends.
He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. John is survived by his loving wife Ruth, and by his three children: John Steven Lashway, Darrell Lashway and Michael Lashway and his stepsons John Simonds, Shawn Simonds, and Richard Lashway, Jr and his stepdaughters, Cindy Lashway Kearney, and Carol Lashway Barker. John is also survived by his siblings Beverly Doughty, Herb Lashway, Sheila Lashway, Earl (Bud) Lashway, Jr., Elaine Nenarella, Marcia DeFrancisco, and Pamela Chesebro. He was predeceased by his sister, Anita Benedict and his brother, Albert Lashway.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford NY 13830. Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM led by John's grandson Matthew Lashway.
Burial with military honors will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton, NY. Friends and family may share memories and condolences by visiting www.behefuneralhome.com.
