Julia Dunay Lenish, 99 of Binghamton passed away on November 4, 2017 at James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home. She was born on March 28, 1918 in Binghamton a daughter of the late John and Maria (Spetulich) Dunay.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Catherine and Dan Sooker and daughter, Sarah, James Charles and Barbara Dunay and son, Jonathan, Julie Anne and Steve Dunckel and sons, Steven and Mark, and Elizabeth Bortle and children, Seth and Elizabeth, Mary Elizabeth Dunay, Michael Tatich and Kenneth and Barbara Lenish, Michael and Margaret Lenish and children, John, Jeffrey and Christopher, and Charles K. Lenish.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Charles "Chuck" Lenish and daughter, Marianne Dunay Lenish Janick. Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Mary Leonard Bovan (Andrew), Anne Calabrisi (Dr. Paul), Susan Tatich (Michael), Helen Hanchak George, Nancy Dunay, William Dunay, Elizabeth Waldron (Maurice), and Joseph Dunay (Ruth) and her niece and nephews, Nancy Ann Waldron, Joseph Waldron and John Paul Dunay.
Judy was a life time member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church. She had worked at Investor Diversified Services and the NYS Department of Labor. She was a past Matron of Otseningo Chapter, OES and a member of Zuleika Chapter, DON. She and her husband enjoyed many hours at the Binghamton Elks Club. She volunteered at the American Civic Assn. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Star Unit of the James G. Johnston Nursing Home for their loving care of Aunt Judy.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church with Rev. James Dutko officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Kalurah Shriners, 625 Dickson St, Endicott, NY 13760.
