Lee E. Stockton 88 of Oxford passed away on March 27, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 27, 1927 in DeRuyter, NY a son of the late Earl and Nellie (Hathaway) Stockton.
He is survived by his children, Gail Kovach, Cathy Smith and Mark Stockton; his brother, Dale Stockton; his sister, Frances Squires and many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step children, H. James Seaman and Pearl Duncan. He was predeceased by his wife, Ladis Seaman Stockton and son, Brian Youngs.
Lee was the director of the Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton for many years and retired from Branam Industries in Greene. He worked for railway mail early in his career. He was a master gardener and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Cortland County Trappers Association and a founding member of the National Trappers Association.
A memorial service will be held at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY on April 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM with George Geres officiating.
