Leonard D. Quinn, Jr., 94, of Oxford passed away on October 13, 2021, at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford. He was born on January 21, 1927, the son of Leonard Sr. and Estella (Angell) Quinn. On June 24, 1950, in St. Joseph's Church, Oxford he married Betty Gott, who passed away on April 13, 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Neubauer) Quinn; his children, Martyn and Beverly Quinn, Karen and Jerry Locke, Joanne and Steven Locke, Richard and Debra Quinn, Tena and David Neubauer, stepdaughter Michelle and Anthony Fargnoli, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille Childs and stepson, Michael Mele.
Leonard attended Oxford Academy and Central School. He grew up on the family farm, where he built his current home. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines and the US Marine Corp. He retired from Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals. In retirement Leonard worked at Behe Funeral Home for 25 years. He was a very faithful member and eucharistic minister at St. Joseph's Church. He was a member of Lake Ludlow Club for many years. He enjoyed making maple syrup, the outdoors and hunting.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, State St., Oxford. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
