Linda Lou Crook Doughty left us on January 14f.,2022, ending her 13 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born October 15, 1939, in Baldwinsville, N.Y. to Arley B. Crook and Mabel B. Crook and lived at the family home until marrying David L. Doughty in 1961. Early in their 60 years together she produced three fine sons, Jonathan, Eric, and Andrew, all of whom survive and have always delighted their parents. Andrew teamed with David as a dedicated caregiver and together with Linda's devoted aid they saw her through the last several years of her life. Linda had three siblings, also surviving: Frederick Crook, Thomas Crook and Charlene Crook Peak. Linda attended Syracuse University and Utica College briefly. She worked as an aid at Norwich High School and later took a position at Guernsey Memorial Library-her dream job-where she oversaw inter-library loan operations. She was respected and liked by patrons and colleagues alike. After 26 years of much appreciated service, she retired reluctantly. Linda's interests were broad. With David-and often close friends-she attended many plays, concerts and operas and visited New York's museums frequently. She loved sailing in the family's small boat and was particularly fond of country living. As a member of the Thistledown Handspinners' guild, she could turn a raw fleece into coveted garments. She was a truly fine and accomplished lady. Beloved by her family, she will be remembered always, and missed keenly. Donations may be made to WSKG or Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, N.Y. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home. Friends and family may share memories and condolences by visiting www.behefuneralhome.com
