Linda s. preston

Linda S. Preston of Smithville Flats passed away on July 24, 2014 at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford. She was born on July 30, 1944 in Norwich a daughter of the late Derwin and Marion Barrows. On September 7, 1963 she married Douglas Preston, who survives.
Besides her husband, Douglas, she is survived by her children, Martin Preston, Marlene and Roger Barnhart and Mary Lou Elder; her grandchildren, Jared Barnhart, Lindsey Barnhart, Erin Elder and Mollie Elder; her brother and sister in law, Leon and Jean Barrows; her sister and brother in law, Nancy and Douglas Reynolds; her brother in law and sister in law, Rodney and Donna Preston and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister and brother in law Betty and Lowell Wheelock, brothers in law, Gordon Preston and John Preston; and her aunts and uncle, Virginia and Lynn Barrows and Olive Kenyon.
Linda was known for her love of entertaining family and friends, whom she always made, feel special. She was a dedicated mother to her son Martin. She enjoyed baking cakes for special occasions and making crafts, but her love was her flower gardening. She enjoyed trips to the Amish Country in Pennsylvania. She had worked at Head Start in Greene and at The Cheese Trap.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Monday from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford.
