Lorenda Cuono-LaCroce

Lorenda Cuono-LaCroce, 60 of Norwich passed away on May 25,2023 at Binghamton General Hospital.  She was born on October 31, 1962, in East Stroudsburg, PA, a daughter of the late Carmen and Elaine (Nicholasen) Cuono.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew LaCroce; her children, Christine and Todd Barone of Elmira, Jennifer and James Caton of Topsham, ME, Michael and Hunter LaCroce of Oxford, Christopher and Kellie LaCroce of Sherburne, Brian and Libby LaCroce of Norwich, and Camren LaCroce of Buffalo and her grandchildren, Foxtrot and Echo Thomas, Claire Caton, Liam LaCroce, Carson Ganoung, Lincoln LaCroce, and Dylan Barone.  She was predeceased by her sister, Linda and brother, Barry.

Seemingly always on the move, Lorenda enjoyed kayaking and canoeing, especially at her camp at Lake Steere, and spending time with her horses. Hardly ever without a book at her side, she was a voracious reader and was always quick to share her latest recommendation. Professionally, she shared her passion for helping others, especially disadvantaged teenagers, in her job at Chenango County Behavioral Health, and was a Teen Council Leader for 4-H. But more than anything, Lorenda loved spending time with her family, particularly spoiling her grandchildren, and was famous for her fierce, long-lasting hugs. 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Forks Church Cemetery, Stockertown, PA.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at the Wild Owl at the Baron’s Inn in Greene, NY, on Sunday, June 4 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. All friends and family are encouraged to attend at any point in that time frame to share their memories of Lorenda and celebrate the time we spent with her.
