Mary J. Howe of Oxford NY passed into eternal rest on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at UHS-Wilson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. On August 8, 1942, Mary, known by "Jackie" to those who knew her, was born in Cuthbert, Georgia to parents, Walter and Lizzie Mae Shadrick of Cuthbert. Jackie is predeceased by her parents as well as sister Jean Rogers.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Howe of Oxford. She is also survived by sons Mark and Deborah Howe of Oxford, Scott and Sheri Howe of Oxford, and daughter Joanna Howe-Langille, and David Langille of Oxford, and special "son" John Folkerts of Yonkers, NY. She is also survived by sisters Brenda Brothers of Eden, NY and Carol and husband Ted of Illinois. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Brandon Howe, Ryan Antinore, Victoria Lewis, Cameron Lints, Samantha Howe, Taylor Chapman, Jessie Howe, Maddy Howe, Addison Howe, and great-grandson, Waylon Moore. Also surviving are nieces Robin Ciperly, Sharon Hicks, Nicole (John) Gustavson, Natalie (Adam) Henrich, and Michelle Clemens.
Jackie so loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She was very dedicated to caring for them in their journey as they grew up. This was her greatest joy and every one of them holds a special place in their hearts to honor her and her never ending love for them. Throughout her life, Jackie was a hard worker giving support to the family farm, working at the Norwich Shoe Company, and eventually retiring from the Norwich City School District as a food service worker.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 12:00PM to 3:00PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY 13830. Funeral service officiated by Pastor Richard Howard will begin at 3:00PM. Memorial Contributions in Jackie's memory may be made to the Taste N See Soup Kitchen, 32 Main St., Oxford, NY ?
