Melvin "Doc" Manwarren, 90 of Oxford passed away on October 20, 2018 at Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich. He was born on November 6, 1927 in German a son of the late Ward and Rose (Gardner) Manwarren.
Doc is survived by his children, Terry Manwarren, Lewellyn Manwarren, Marge Custer, Cindy Bricker, and Annette Hill. 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Smith- Manwarren; his sons, Leon Manwarren and Kenneth Manwarren and his daughter Louann Gordon; his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Manwarren, Ronald Manwarren, Arley Manwarren, Lavern Manwarren, Ruth Bair, Stewart Manwarren, Bertha Blackman, and Myron Manwarren.
Doc retired as a supervisor at Mid-York Press. He enjoyed working on cars and woodworking making lawn ornaments and furniture. In his younger years he was a boxer. He was well known for always being willing to help anyone.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St, Oxford with Rev. Jeremy Stopford officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
