Richard H. Post, 86 of Oxford passed away on April 9, 2015 at the NYS Veterans' Home, Oxford. He was born on November 17, 1928 in Sergeantsville, NJ a son of the late Harry and Jennie (Smith) Post.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Post of Oxford; son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Debbie Post of Columbia, SC; daughter and son in law, Teri and Tom Kozlowski of New Market, MD, and daughter in law, Joanne Post of Frederick, MD; his sisters, Betty Tiscenchek and husband Louie of Oneonta, and Mary Dresser and husband David of Maryland, NY; his grandchildren, Justin and Lauryn Post of Cape Cod, MA, Jenny and Jim Gorski of New Market, MD, Jillian and Dave Austin of Troy, NY, Jorgen and Jess Post of Bel Aire, MD, Stephanie Mustee of New Hartford, Courtney and Shawn LaLiberte of Sauguoit, Alexandra Kozlowski of Redondo Beach, CA, and Samantha Kozlowski of New York City; his great grandchildren, Avianna Gorski, Anthony Gorski, Avery Post, Wyatt Post, Brielle LaLiberte, and Chase LaLiberte. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Dick was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the New York State Department of Corrections at Camp Pharsalia. He was an avid sportsman, especially competitive shooting. He also enjoyed motorcycles and spending his winters in Florida.
Service were held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Allen C. Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford, officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
