Terry A. (Smith) Thompson, of Oxford, passed away peacefully with her daughter, Lindsy by her side on January 15, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband and best friend, Harold (Hal) Thompson, father, William (Bill) Smith Sr., mother, Madalyn (Barnes) Smith, sister, Susan (Smith) Thompson, and brother, William (Bill) Smith Jr. Terry, lovingly known as "T" to her closest family, is survived by her daughter and closest confidant, Lindsy Thompson (Robert Murphy) and grandson Chase Jacquette, who was her pride and joy. She is also survived by stepdaughter, Kim Thompson and grandsons Daniel and Andrew, stepson, Tracy Thompson (Deb) and grandchildren Matt and Allyson, and stepson, Mark Thompson and grandchildren Paisley, Michal, Christopher and Vincent, brothers-in-law, Cecil and Wayne Thompson (Sandy) and several nieces and nephews. Terry is also survived by Airelle and Jordan, who held a special place in her heart. Terry was born on March 20, 1946, and grew up in Schoharie, NY. She greatly enjoyed her long career as a law clerk for Roger Monaco and Adam Spence. Terry enjoyed spending time with her close friend Sandy Seaman and going to the casino with Ronnie and the girls. She loved holidays and shopping for loved ones, reading, and babysitting her grandson, Chase. Terry was a fun loving and compassionate person who brought so much joy and laughter to those around her. Her smile could light up a room.
Her daughter would like to express her sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility, with a special thank you to Debbie Tefft. A special thank you is also extended to her lifelong friend, Bob Stark (Christina) who's generosity went above and beyond. Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home (21 Main Street, Oxford, NY) on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 11:00AM-12:30PM. A Celebration of Life will then take place for friends and family at 1:00PM at Hoppie's Restaurant in Oxford.
