Thomas M. Diamond, 68, of Oxford, NY went to sleep on this earth for the last time on January 7th 2014. He was born on April 2nd 1945 the son of Hubert and Josephine Diamond.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Joyce who took care of him in sickness and in health. His greatest joy in life was always his children and grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his son Thomas E. Diamond, whom he shared a special bond only God knew and that will exist forever. He is also survived by his loving daughter Laurie Ann O'Brien and her husband Tim O'Brien. Laurie has and will always have that special connection only a daughter has with her Dad.
Tom's grandchildren gave him unconditional love. Tom "Papa" loved each of his grandchildren to no end, with an individual and special love for every one of them. Papa loved to laugh, smile and always made it a point to cheer up his grandchildren. Papa shared his strength with all them. He will be remembered and missed by all six of them. Tom's grandchildren are Kristina Frank, Jessica Frank, Matthew Diamond, Katelyn Diamond, Logan O'Brien and Liam O'Brien.
Tom had a great number of siblings. He was predeceased by his brother Hubert (Sonny) Diamond. He is survived by his brothers Alan and Carol Diamond of Baldwinsville, NY; and Richard and Sammy Diamond of Oxford, NY. He is survived by his sisters Kathrine Purdy of Oxford, NY; Ann Blau of Oneida, NY; and Linda and Bill Hunter of Oxford NY. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Thank you all for being there for Uncle Tom!
Tom attended and graduated in the Class of 1966 from Oxford Academy. He worked at Bennett Ireland, G.L.A. and retired from Automecha due to health issues. He loved country music, playing guitar, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR with #3 forever being his favorite driver.
Calling hours will be conducted at Behe Funeral Home in Oxford, NY on Monday January 13th 2014 from 9am- 11am, with funeral services to immediately follow. Burial will be held at The Union Cemetery in McDonough, NY in the spring.
