We would like to honor the great life of Thomas McCumber Seminera who passed away on December 28, 2022. Tom was a genius, and an adventurer of many things. He always went out of his way to help anyone who needed a hand. He was a compassionate and loving family man. Tom wasn’t just hard working he had talents that just came natural to him. He was top chef, carpenter, auto mechanic, and electrician. There was truly nothing he couldn’t do. He started very young and learned how to make the best authentic Italian pizza and cuisine the Oxford Community had ever tasted. He later tended bar at the Oxford Tavern on his “nights off” from being on the road running lines for Verizon or working as a mechanic, before becoming an owner/operator of several local restaurants. He loved cooking side by side with Mindy. “Things were always flying”. Tom was always up for a last-minute trip, concert, festival, or just spending time around a campfire with his family and friends around him.
Tom is survived by the love of his life Hillary Hicks and their three sons Thomas Jr. Stanley and Christopher. He was the best “Grumpa” to Ellie and Stella. Tom is also survived by his parents Stanley and Estelle McCumber, his uncle Ronald (MaryAnne) Seminera, his brothers Stephen (Sheri/Tammy) Coons, Nathan (Tina) McCumber and Jason McCumber. He is also survived by his beloved sisters Michele (Mickey) Kreamer, Mindy (Rich) Lovett, Stephanie (Dale) Bartel, Kelly (Joel) Lawrence, and Athena McCumber.
With a family as large as Tom’s it’s hard not to mention the love he had for his nieces and nephews that were treated like his own children, and several aunts and uncles.
Toms’ family would like to give a special thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care in Binghamton, NY who treated Tom and Hillary like family. Especially his nurses Melissa, Caitlin, and Camille. Liz was always a welcoming face.
Tom has so many special lifelong friends that became more like extended family over the years. You know who you are and that you all had an impact on his life and were so important to him. He would do anything for any one of you.
Tom was predeceased by his father Michael Seminera and by his brother Christopher McCumber.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc, Oxford, NY. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Oxford American Legion from 2:00PM-5:00PM.
