Obituary for Thomas "Barney" O'Brien
Tom passed away Monday October 28th 2019 in Wilson Hospital after a battle with Emphysema.
Born April 11th, 1972 in Red Bank NJ to parents William and Elfriede O'Brien. Tom grew up in McDonough NY and attended Oxford Academy and Central School.
Tom graduated from high school and started working right away. He worked construction jobs and then became a logger. After hurting his back he found telecommunications and worked for many years in many roles. For the past decade he ran and managed an access program for AT&T in the NYC/NNJ market. He loved his job and especially the people that he worked with and for.
Tom was always dedicated to his friends and family. He loved to just talk and laugh. He enjoyed taking care of his mother the past few years. He had a huge love for music and the louder the better.
Tom was preceded in passing by his father William O'Brien and Aunt and Uncle Larry and Hilda Rosenblum. Tom is survived by his mother Elfriede O'Brien, brother Tim and his wife Laurie. His nieces and nephew, Kristina, Jessica, Logan and Liam and also his cousins Alan Rosenblum and Larry Rosenblum. Steve and Debbie Kitsos of Katy, Texas.
