Willette northup-thompson

Willette "Willie" Northup-Thompson, 32 of Lansing, MI, formerly of Oxford passed away peacefully on December 8, 2010 at Eaton Community Hospice, Charlotte, MI. She was born on August 3, 1978 in Cortland, NY a daughter of Kevin and Tena (Loomis) Northup. On February 9, 2010 she married William B. Thompson, who survives.
Besides her parents, Kevin and Tena Northup and her husband, William B. Thompson; she is survived by her brothers and sisters, Kevin Northup, Jr. and Danelle Stein and his children, Catherine and Julia, Richard Northup and Cathy Figgs and son Robbie Figgs, Eric and Joyce Northup, Kathy and Shawn Ryan and children, Melinda, Rocky, and Thomas, Jessie Ryan and Steve Shehorn and children, Sharie, Jessica, Amy, and Tina, Jennifer Northup and Ivan Smith and children, Shelby, Lakota, and Storm. 2 great nieces and a great nephew also survive. She was predeceased by a nephew, Jacob Northup.
Willie graduated from Oxford Academy and Central School in 1997, Washington & Jefferson University in 2001 and Tom Cooley School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 2004, and in 2005 she received her LLM degree. She was licensed in both Michigan and Washington, DC to practice law. She had a private practice for 3 years before becoming Director of Advanced Education at the Tom Cooley School of Law. She loved playing basketball, especially in high school and college. Her nieces and nephews were very important to her, as well as here many friends everywhere
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Oxford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY 13830 on Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 South Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813 for their special care that was given to Willie.
