William jay margeson

William "Bill" Margeson, 74, passed away at his home in Sidney on June 26, 2020. He was the son of the late William H. and Winifred Margeson. A 1965 graduate of Oxford Academy & Central Schools, Bill joined the Navy Seabees and served from 1966 to 1969. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Bill was proud to be the first in his family to serve in the military. After his discharge he was employed by NYSEG at Jennison Station in Bainbridge where he worked his way up from shoveling coal to shift supervisor. He retired after 31 years. Bill was a life member of Sidney American Legion Post 183, VFW Post 7914, the NRA, as well as Oneonta DAV Post 200. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Jay A. Margeson (Christine); grandson, Nathan; sister, Carole Leahy; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Sidney Emergency Squad or a charity of one's choice.
