Obituary of James R Paden
James R. Paden 92, of Oxford, NY passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Kathryn (Rice) Paden; his parents Harold and Tessie (Miner) Paden; his brother Harold "Speed" Paden and his sisters Louise Goodness and Ruth Potter.
James is survived by his son Richard Paden, his brother Maurice Paden, and by several loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jim was a member of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion, the Oxford Rod & Gun Club, Lake Ludlow Club, and the Oxford Fire Department. He worked as a conductor for the O&W Railroad for 15 years, he also worked for Francis Campbell Contracting, and was the Maintenance Supervisor for the NYS Veterans Home for 26 years. Jim enlisted in the US Navy in 1943, was a member of the Seabees and served in the Pacific during WWII. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his time spent at Lake Ludlow.
Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Thursday July 11, 2019 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:00AM with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jim's memory can be made to the Oxford Fire Department, PO Box 572, Oxford, NY 13830.
