Obituary of Beverly G Sternbergh

Beverly Kelley Sternbergh, 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Cumming, Georgia. Bev studied music at Ithaca College and went on to become a beloved elementary music teacher retiring from the Greene School District after 22 years. Family and music were her life and she enjoyed leading choirs in both the Whitney Point and Greene United Methodist Churches. She enjoyed her Men's Choir, Singing Moms, and had a kitchen band in Florida when they retired. She especially loved working with her East River Singers. Bev was a member of DAR and was a talented artist. She spent many summers with her grandchildren fishing at their camp on Petonia Lake in Greene. After retiring, Bev and her husband traveled around the country in their RV meeting lifelong friends. They also enjoyed many years being "snowbirds", traveling between Florida and New York. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Beulah Keeler Kelley; her brother, George Kelley; her daughter Mary (Sue) Nichols Martin; son-in-law Erwin Beardsley; stepdaughter Brenda Stout and step-granddaughter Tara Stout. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Sternbergh of Cumming, GA; her daughter, Linda Beardsley, Whitney Point, NY and daughter and son-in law, Tamara and Philip Mariotti, Utica, NY; stepdaughter, Bonnie Hoag, Sugar Hill, GA and stepdaughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jerry Wercholuk, Big Canoe, GA. She dearly loved her 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Bev was a gracious and loving wife and mother. She was loved by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
